HiViz Lighting’s VP of Sales, Ryan Baldwin, participated in this year’s FAMA/FEMSA Hill Day on April 6-7. Those who joined the event did so with the goal of advocating for the full funding of the AFG and SAFER grants.
While on Capitol Hill, they also had the opportunity to visit with and build relationships with members of Congress. The staff members of HiViz’s local congressional representative, Madison Cawthorn, were particularly interested in the work that they were doing for the fire service and eagerly scheduled a home visit to learn more.
A few weeks later, on May 3, US House Representative Madison Cawthorn (North Carolina District 11) and two of his staff members toured the HiViz facility in Hendersonville, NC and met with their leadership team. They discussed the ever-changing needs of the fire apparatus market, funding for the fire service, and how HiViz provides new technologies for the industry. The challenges of finding highly skilled labor in the western North Carolina area were also a conversation topic. Congressman Cawthorn expressed his appreciation for the discussion and took note of the team’s concerns, for later follow up.
